Paestum, Latinized name of the term Paistom with which was called after its conquest by the Lucania, is an ancient city of Magna Grecia called by the founders Poseidonia in honor of Poseidon, but most devoted to Hera and Athena. It is found in more recent as Pesto, name kept until 1926, when it was renamed in the current version. The extension of his town is still clearly recognizable, enclosed by its Greek walls, as amended in Luke and Roman.
